Long-term Volunteers
These volunteers will dedicate themselves for the entire 12-week duration, serving as small group table hosts and helpers, consistently engaging with the same 4-6 guests. Welcome to Alpha Canada at St. Gerard`s Parish
Are you searching for meaning, or wondering about the big questions of life? Whether you are exploring faith for the first time, returning to church after some time away, or looking to deepen your understanding of Christianity, the Alpha Canada program at St. Gerard's is here to welcome you.

What is Alpha?
Alpha is an opportunity to explore life's big questions, to say what you think and to hear other people's points of view. It is a 12-week course that creates a space where people come together to discuss life, faith, and Jesus in an open, friendly, and non-judgmental environment. Each session includes light refreshments, a talk on topics like "Who is Jesus?" or "Why and how do I pray?", and a time for discussion where no question is too simple or too contentious.

Our Program
Here at St. Gerard's, we believe that everyone should have the chance to explore faith, ask questions, and share their point of view. Our Alpha sessions are:
- Engaging: Starting with light refreshments, providing a relaxed setting to get to know others.
- Thought-Provoking: Featuring talks that look at different aspects of the Christian faith, designed to inspire conversation.
- Interactive: A place where you can share your thoughts, and where listening to others can be just as enlightening.

When and Where?
Our inaugural Alpha course begins on Sunday, January 19, 2025 at St. Gerard's Parish church hall. Sessions will run every Sunday from 2:00 - 4:00 PM for 12 weeks. No need to commit to the whole course right away – try the first session to see if Alpha is for you!
