Children`s Baptisms

NOTE: For those not registered as members of St. Gerard's Parish:
As a courtesy to your HOME parish, a letter of permission from your pastor
must be submitted prior to registering your child for Baptism at St. Gerard's.
If needed, submit the Letter of Permission to Frontdesk.admin@stgerards.ca

There are two categories for children's Baptism at St. Gerard`s parish, depending upon their age:
1. BAPTISM FOR INFANTS TO 6 YEARS
Baptisms for infants and children up to age 6 are held during all masses, every third weekend of the month, with a maximum of two families per mass.

Prior to Baptism, each family is requested to attend a mandatory Baptism Preparation Session held either Wednesday or Thursday evening at 7:00 PM, the same week of the Baptism weekend. Click here to view the 2025/26 Preparation and Baptism schedule.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION for Infant Baptism
Once you have registered using the online Baptism Registration form below, please submit all documentation for Baptism at least one month prior to the Baptism date. Documentation requirements are listed in the registration form.

2. BAPTISM FOR SCHOOL-AGED CHILDREN 7 - 17 YEARS
Children ages 7 and older will need to attend Catechism classes to prepare for Baptism. These classes will help the child understand the significance of the sacrament and prepare them to receive it.

PARISH CONTACT
Once you have completed the Baptism Registration form, someone from the Baptism team will contact you to confirm the Baptism date and to remind you of the in-person Baptism Preparation session.

FREE WILL OFFERING
There is no fee associated with the sacrament of Baptism , however a free will offering and financial support is encouraged to sustain parish maintenance. You can do this via e-transfer to the Administrative Assistant in the parish office or by donating online here.
