Journey Through Lent: Faith, Sacrifice and Community
At St. Gerard's Parish, Lent is a time to deepen our faith together, with events to guide us through the season. This 40-day journey, from Ash Wednesday, March 5 to Holy Thursday, April 17, prepares us for Easter through prayer, fasting, and almsgiving—more time with God, less indulgence, and greater generosity.
Inspired by Jesus’ 40 days in the desert, it’s a personal call to pause, reflect, and reset spiritually. We invite you to join us for Mass, Stations of the Cross, Reconciliation, and more—opportunities to pray, seek forgiveness, and grow in community. Start this sacred season with us by attending mass on Ash Wednesday, March 5 (9 AM and 7 PM).
FASTING Catholics aged 18 to 59 are obliged to fast on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday, which means limiting themselves to one full meal and two smaller meals that together do not equal a full meal. Additionally, Catholics 14 years and older are required to abstain from meat on Ash Wednesday and all Fridays during Lent.
