Fifth Sunday of Ordinary Time February - 5, 2023
Priest: God responds when we ask for what we need. Let us offer our petitions with confidence.
For God’s holy people, that we glorify God by living as the Church teaches; let us pray to the Lord…Lord, hear our prayer.
For young people, that they answer God’s call to religious vocations and lay service in the Church, let us pray to the Lord…Lord, hear our prayer.
For all here present who help the poor, the hungry, and the sick, that they find joy and renewal in their ministry; let us pray to the Lord…Lord, hear our prayer.
That each person present at this table, find the courage to shine brightly before others as Jesus taught us. Let us pray to the Lord…Lord, hear our prayer.
We pray for those who are consecrated to God by the vows of chastity, poverty and obedience. May they always reveal the love of Christ to those they encounter and continue to enrich our world by their dedicated lives of prayer; let us pray to the Lord…Lord, hear our prayer.
We pray for all those who are discerning their vocation in life, particularly those whom the Lord is calling to consecrated life. May they be given the wisdom to hear God’s call and the courage to respond generously; let us pray to the Lord…Lord, hear our prayer.
For those who are called to the consecrated life, may they be faithful witnesses of God’s love. May others be inspired to live their baptismal commitment by professing the vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience; let us pray to the Lord…Lord, hear our prayer.
For all who actively support the promotion of vocations to the priesthood and consecrated life, that they may see the fruit of their efforts in a rich harvest of vocations; let us pray to the Lord…Lord, hear our prayer.
For all pastors and parish priests of our diocese, that they will recognize and invite those men and women being called to ordained and consecrated lives to answer the call; let us pray to the Lord…Lord, hear our prayer.
For all who are sick and suffering, especially Judy Wilson, Lorraine Baldwin and Nick Fanella; that they receive healing hope and tender love, let us pray to the Lord…Lord, hear our prayer.
For all who have died, including Laurence Alay; may they live forever with Christ in the glory of the resurrection; let us pray to the Lord…Lord hear our prayer.
Priest: Father of kindness, you listen with special attention to those most in need. Open our ears and hearts that we may be instruments of your grace. We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Priest: The beatitudes express God’s unconditional love for us. Knowing we are the Father’s beloved children, let us present our prayers to him.
To satisfy those who hunger and thirst for righteousness across the globe; let us pray to the Lord…Lord, hear our prayer.
That church leaders always remain open to the direction of the Holy Spirit; let us pray to the Lord… Lord, hear our prayer.
For rulers and legislators to be inspired by the beatitudes to serve the poor and the voiceless; let us pray to the Lord… Lord, hear our prayer.
That all who fight for justice and peace maintain hope in difficult times; let us pray to the Lord… Lord, hear our prayer.
For openness to healing, deeper understanding and reconciliation of the relationships between the Church and Indigenous People and Indigenous spiritualties in Canada, let us pray to the Lord… Lord, hear our prayer.
That poor people, especially those who are homeless or mentally ill, enjoy a life of dignity and abundant blessings; let us pray to the Lord… Lord, hear our prayer.
For all who are sick and suffering, especially Laurence Alay, Lorraine Baldwin, Nick Fanella, Corazon Samson and Marlene Reg; that they receive healing hope and tender love; let us pray to the Lord… Lord, hear our prayer.

That all who gather at this table take seriously their calling to help build the reign of God in home, school, and neighborhood; let us pray to the Lord… Lord, hear our prayer.
Priest: God of justice and mercy, you know our needs and relieve our anxiety. Give us humble hearts and make us worthy of your love. We ask this through Jesus Christ, our Lord.
