Pastorfr.transtgerards.caFr. Ignatius Tran, Pastor of St. Gerard’s Parish from August 1st , 2017, to present.
I was born and raised in Vietnam. I lived there until my escape from the
communists in 1980, due to religious persecutions. Arrived in Hong Kong after an
arduous journey on the sea and lived in the refugee camp for 5 months. Arrived in
Canada on October 27th, 1980.
I continued my education in the Seminary of Christ the King in Mission, BC and later was ordained a priest in 1986 by Bishop Paul O'Byrne; have served in the Diocese of Calgary ever since.
